The Doctor Said I Would Have To Live With The Pain

I had severe headaches, leg and back pain, neck pain, and pain in my shoulders. I would experience frequent cramping of my left hand. I had these problems for quite a while.

Due to these conditions, I couldn’t lift much at work, I limped while walking, and headaches made me miserable. I’ve tried Tylenol and cortisone shots. The doctor said I would have to live with the pain. Since I've been seeing Dr. Paul, I don’t suffer from headaches, neck and back pain anymore. My posture has greatly improved and I feel so much better. Dr. Paul has helped me regain full use of my hands. Thanks a million!

A True Endorsement for Great Health Care

January of 1997, I suffered serious injury during a rear end collision on I-4 near Winter Park, Florida during rush hour one evening. The following couple of days, I became aware how important the health and welfare of my lower back was to me after the injury. Bedridden with extreme pain, the pain pills prescribed by my emergency room MD, only briefly gave relief. I literally had to be helped from the bed for several days to go to the bathroom, and in great agony.

Finally, I called a good friend who was a chiropractor and arranged an appointment. He gave me some limited amount of relief and along with the pain pills I soon assumed limited activity and normal work and family duties.

After about 4 years of dependency on prescription anti-inflammatory medications and pain pills, I began to see and feel the side effects of the medication. My stomach became irritated and soon started to develop symptoms of gastric ulcers.

This is when I discovered The Lake Mary Chiropractic Team. Dr. Paul Toma became my primary provider for care and things have since turned my whole life around. You see, I have always been active in tennis, jogging, softball and golf, but could not even play a round of golf without much pain before I met my friends at the Lake Mary Chiropractic Care office.

Through a regiment of treatment twice a week for the first few months with Claire, the massage therapist, and regular adjustments with Dr. Paul Toma and advice from his highly trained staff on every thing from diet, stretching and some supplements, I have become a full person again enjoying the sport activities I have loved all my life, pain free without any surgery.

Pure and simple, they have changed my life, and gave me back the life style I so enjoyed for many years and feared I could never enjoy again. And as a result of my success, I have gone out of my way to recommend many of my co- workers and friends to the Lake Mary Chiropractic Center with much confidence. I truly wish everyone that sees them experiences the same recovery and success I have.

Sincerely,
Steve Rohde

I Get Sick Less Often!

Being an amateur figure skater, it is important that I am at peak performance. My severe low back pain prevented me from this. It hurt to lift my partner or do activities requiring stamina. At times my whole back would be sore.

After beginning chiropractic care, it made a dramatic difference in how I felt, my posture, and performance on the ice. I can function better and I’m not in pain anymore. I’ve also noticed I get sick less often!

I had back pain for the last 5 years, increasing as time went on. Stiffness and loss of mobility increased as well. My lower back was tight and sensitive, and I would experience shooting pain in my upper back. This sometimes made simple tasks difficult, and my sleep was never sound.

In three months, my flexibility and range of motion have been greatly increased, while my pain has subsided. My sleep patterns are much better now!

I had neck problems for 25+ years. I also suffered from occasional lower back pain, and knee problems (including swelling and stiffness).

The problems I had with my neck made driving hard and caused pain in my shoulders and arms. My lower back pain would make essential things like walking difficult.

Since beginning chiropractic care, my neck hasn’t been stiff and I don’t have any more pain in my shoulder or arms. I have only experienced stiffness in my lower back once or twice and my knees haven’t given me any problems at all!

I had chronic headaches, neck pain, shoulder pain, and mid-back pain. I was unable to turn my head to the left. I also had a loss of feeling in my fingers, numbness in my hands, and pain in my arms.

I was afraid of going to the chiropractor at first. I feared it might make me feel worse, causing me to miss more work.

After visiting Dr. Paul for a short time, I was relieved when the pain began to disappear. I also had feeling back in my hands for the first time in over 5 years! I was surprised at how accustomed I had become to the pain.

I am very happy to say since the beginning of my treatment, my health has improved significantly. I can do prolonged activity with my hands and can bend my arms. I can now participate in sports and have greater energy. Thank you.

I had very bad lower back pain and some neck pain. It would hurt more if I stood for long periods of time on hard surfaces. I could not do the things I used to do anymore.

Lake Mary Chiropractic Center is great! I have known them for a short time, but have found them to be very professional and caring. They have helped me a great deal. Now that I have been under chiropractic care, my pain has been reduced by 90%. I am very satisfied with the care I have received from this office. Thanks guys!

My complaints were severe. It was difficult to move, to sleep; I had headaches almost everyday, which turned into migraines on a more than weekly basis. Both hands were numb and my arms tingled. I had knots on the back up near my head that felt like golf balls and were agonizing. I threw up from pain constantly if I was easily fatigued and was always rubbing my neck with my hands. I had that “pinched look” in my eyes that is indicative of someone in a lot of pain. One of the worst things I experienced on a constant basis was vertigo (dizziness) and nausea. By the way, one adjustment from Dr. Paul and I have not been dizzy again! That alone was enough for me.

I have suffered from these types of problems for the last 12 years on a severe level, and moderate before then as long as I can remember. My condition totally regulated what I did. I was unable to do most physical activities without paying greatly for days and days. I also suffered in performing any yard work and maintenance on my house by having to stay in bed with ice, a heating pack, and pain pills for two or three days anytime I attempted any type of manual labor, which as to be often as I am a single mother and own my house. Any hobbies I had, I either paid for by neck and back injury, or I did not do them.

I tried every type of treatment I could from massage, to pills, to other chiropractors, to doctors, to exercise…nothing worked on any kind of a lasting basis, and many only gave me temporary relief.

Dr. Paul and Dr. Jen have given me back so much with regards to my total life and what it is now. Their type of chiropractic treatment appears to be more consistent with actually helping the body heal itself, and I am so much better that I have been in years. It is hard to believe still. I can move, ride a bike, roller blade, play with my son, do minor yard work, work, and I have only taken a few pain pills in months. I can feel my arms, and most of my hands.

I think a big part of my recovery also is that I am fairly consistent with my traction. I did not do it once for about 4 days and really suffered so I know I hold a big key to my recovery and staying well. The other key is to be regular with my appointments, so I am. I rarely miss one.

When finally coming in for treatment, after three weeks of intense pain, I was at a point where I could hardly sit, walk, or bend. I attributed the pain to heavy garden work, not knowing that it was more than a simple incident that created my condition.

It was very difficult to concentrate on my work. It was painful to sit, stand, bend, or get in and out of the car.

I tried a heating pad, a cold compress, and anti-inflammatory drugs. All treatments were for temporary relief. I kept at it, thinking in it would all go away. However, when I became tired of the pain, I sought help.

Chiropractic care eased my initial pain in less than a week, and has continued to improve the alignment of my spine. As a result, I very little neck stiffness and much greater movement in my back and shoulders. I can exercise daily and perform strenuous chores without paying a price (stiffness and pain) of rewards.

I had a pinched nerve in my neck and shoulder, causing me headaches for approximately six years.

Heavy activities or playing golf would cause severe shoulder and neck pain. This would then result in headaches so bad that ice packs and bed rest were the only things that would give any relief.

Visits with three different orthopedists resulted in being given cortisone shots, which was only a temporary fix. I also had three weeks of therapy, which did not help.

Chiropractic care for four months has relieved my neck and shoulder pain and headaches 99.9% to date.

Doctor’s told me that I had arthritis of the spine, and I had pain for 14 years. I had to quit my job. I also had to give up sewing and gardening, which I loved to do.

I went to several doctors, and they gave me pain pills and muscle relaxers, but nothing worked. I even went to a specialist, and he told me that my back was so bad that I would never work again. He said that he could do nothing to help, except maybe surgery to fuse my bones together. I refused.

After 14 years of pain, I went to the chiropractor; it took about six months for the pain to completely go away. Now with chiropractic care, I am pain free and very healthy. I plan to see my chiropractor for the rest of my life, so I can stay well and keep my body healthy.

I had almost constant lower back pain and stiffness. I also had a post-nasal drip. After I came to Lake Mary Chiropractic Center, I had an episode of excruciating and disabling back pain that had me bed-ridden for two days. An MRI showed I had a disc extrusion in my last disc, which pressed my spinal cord.

The back pain was a constant annoyance. Sometimes, if I did any lifting or bending, the pain, stiffness, and soreness would get so bad that I would lie down the entire time on my days off, just to let my back recover.

I never tried any specific treatments before Chiropractic; I just lived with the discomfort.

Although I have permanent damage to the lowest disc in my spine, the lower back pain is almost completely gone. This I noticed after getting regular adjustments for several months. After my disc extrusion episode, Dr. Toma opened the office on Sunday morning just to treat me! I recovered in a matter of days, so I could go back to work. After several months, I still have some numbness in one of the outer toes of my left foot, but it is slowly decreasing. Most importantly, the pain is gone and I had no surgery.

I had lower back pains and shoulder aches. I got lots of headaches. It affected my work by me not being able to get up out of bed in the morning and while working I could not bend over sometimes.

Since I began chiropractic care, I no longer have lower back pains. I feel better in the morning and I can do my jobs with no problems. I also feel much better health wise. Don’t have that many headaches anymore.
